Apple Carrot and Peach Smoothie

Apple Carrot and Peach Smoothie

Let the health revolution continue! Well, that came out a bit too heroic, but in essence that is how I feel right now. So much in fact I’m even thinking of starting a new section on the blog, maybe called Healthy Monday? How does that sound?

But in the meantime… smoothies! Why smoothies? Because some time ago I heard a saying that got stuck in my mind. It went something like this: “eat your liquids and drink your solids”.  I don’t quite understand the first part of this quote ( maybe someone can shed some light ), but with the second part I simply fell in love! Thus, smoothies.

I think everyone should drink a smoothie in the morning. It’s easy and fast to make, it is a vitamin bomb and you can take it with you in a jar or in a travel mug. I don’t think you can find an excuse not to grab one in the morning. You can do it however you want, use whatever fruit/veggie you like, you can make them with fresh or frozen fruits, you can add milk, coconut milk, yogurt, water.

The point is there are so many possibilities that I think it is impossible not to find one that suits your taste.

  1. The “eat your liquids and drink your solids” is an aryuveda saying. Whenever you eat solids, chew them till they become liquids. Whenever you drink liquids, “chew” it in the mouth.

I’d personally prefer to sit down to eat breakfast AND have the luxury of the time to do so, but if smoothies are your thing, this one looks good! I might grate the ingredients up and throw that combo in my oatmeal tomorrow!

    • It is everyone’s choice. I would also prefer to sit down to eat breakfast, but if simply there isn’t time for that there are other viable options, such as smoothies.

As for the quote, thanks for the reply :D. You indeed shed some light.

  2. I’m thinking smoothies and popsicles?

    • That actually sounds great :D. I’ve been thinking of buying some popsicle molds to experiment a bit.

  3. I just made popsicles with this recipe. I did alter it a tiny bit, I used stawberry yogurt and almond milk. So good!

    • That sounds really great! 😀 I bought some popsicle molds yesterday and I can’t wait to try your idea out.

  4. Simply good yum 🙂 vegans substitute coconut milk or almond milk for the yogurt. If you need to smooth out the mixture for bulk, throw in a handful of spinach or an avocado. They’re healthy and don’t alter the flavorful fruit taste. Be well!
